Acro is a work in progress project that will be presented in 2019. Acro started in Montreal working with acrobats at the École National de Cirque in Montreal (ENC). The project is inspired by ideas of effort, physical strength and trust. Acrobats trust that performing in an environment that question gravity will be safe. Acrobats sense of competition is not based on declaring a winner but on inciting each other and mutually holding themselves. Mates are not rivals.
These series deals with subjective emotions expressed through movement and static instants frozen in time, a juxtaposition between speed and stillness, close interaction and distance, heat and apathy. Desires, fears, love and loneliness all play balancing each other between past and present. It´s an exploration of inexisting memories with no future.
Perceptions is a summary of images working in places like New York, London, Madrid, Berlin or Amsterdam with dancers and performers in different environments.
Among other companies there are dancers from Royal Danish Ballet, American Ballet Theater, NYCB, Basel Theater, Netherlands Dance Theater, Staatballet from Berlin or Compañia Nacional de Danza in Madrid.
Hidden Subject deals with the concept of “subject” to think about philosophical ideas around the notion of being. The work addresses paradoxes showing elements that can be at once present and absent from perception.
This project was made with a series of mutilated portraits of anonymous and imaginary models to construct the portrait of a perfect subject without identity. In "The Unidentified" the traditional elements of the portrait genre are hidden allowing the viewer to perceive a more intuitive idea of the emotions that serve to understand the existence of the subject.
